Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre has been listed among members of the National Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 presidential elections.
Wale Ojo-Lanre, a journalist of repute was enlisted a member of the new media of the presidential campaign council headed by former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode and professionals in the council.
Speaking with Journalists on the development, Ojo-Lanre said, “I am grateful to the Party for nominating me as a member of the team, I didn’t lobby for this and since they deem it fit to include me I will discharge my duty diligently and ensure we work for the party’s victory in 2023.
“Long before now I have been projecting and defending the APC government because I believe in it and its vision to take make Nigeria a better place.”
Wale Ojo- Lanre was a Chief Press Secretary to former governor Segun Oni, He was Special Assistant to immediate past governor Kayode FAYEMI on Tourism and a former Editor with Tribune Newspaper.
Recall that the first list generated crisis amongst party leadership and members. However, the APC last night released a fresh list of members of its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), naming the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu as second in command to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The fresh list was signed by the national secretary of the party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, unlike the initial 422-member list signed by the presidential candidate of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The list showed that the Adamu-led national working committee (NWC) have taken full charge of the party’s presidential campaign team.
All members of the APC NWC, all former and present APC governors and their deputies, and all members of the National Assembly, among others, are members of the campaign council.
President Buhari will formally inaugurate the presidential campaign council Friday, October 21, 2022. The event is billed to hold at the Banquet Hall of the presidential villa, where the president will also unveil the policy document of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
