Ekiti state Commissioner of Police,CP Joseph Eribo has rolled out programmes to commemorate the national police day, 2025 championed by the Inspector-General of Police , IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
In a statement by SP ABUTU SUNDAY, ANIPR
POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER says the programme starts with Free Medical Services, Stakeholders Engagements and others, thereby calling on the public to attend the programmes.
The statement reads:
This Year’s Historic Event, which will run from April 2nd to April 7th, will feature series of humanitarian and community-based activities including Stakeholders/Community engagements, Free Medical Services , Sports Competition, Security Workshops, among other activities aimed at boosting Police-Community relations and ensure maximum safety.
The Command, in view of this, is set to conduct Free Medical Services/Outreach for members of the Public on Thursday 3rd April, 2025 by 10a.m at the Police Officers Mess, Market Places, Motor Parks and other strategic points across the State, in addition to the stakeholders’ engagement set to take place same day, time and venue. The Free medical services will continue on 4th April, 2025 to ensure large beneficiaries.
In addition, there will be road walk and campaign against cultism, drugs abuse, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and other social vices on Friday 4th April, 2025, a program which will be extended to schools as part of the IGPs Safer School Initiative.
On Saturday 5th April, 2025, the Command will be embarking on an environmental sanitation exercise around market places and other selected points across the State, while Monday 7th April, 2025, which is the grand finale, will feature sporting activities which include indoor and outdoor games as well as Police Parade and match past along major roads across Ado-Ekiti Metropolis, which will be led by the Ekiti State Police Band.
