The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ekiti state Wing, Comrade Daodu Bamidele Olaitan has charged teachers to be more dedicated in their duties of shaping students lives as they resume for second term, 2023/2024 academic session on Monday, January 8, 2024.
The chairman disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti on Sunday. He noted that education is the bedrock of development, thereby enjoined Ekiti teachers to be more determined and focused than before to impacting knowledge on the students.
The statement reads, “Ekiti state is known as Fountain of Knowledge and land of Honour, as teachers; we must work assiduously to showcase this to the world through the excellent performances of our students. It’s on this basis, I want to charge you to be more determined, focused and dedicated to your duties this second term. Do everything that is expected of you to positively impact the students because the performances of your students speak volume about you”
Comrade Daodu who appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji for prioritizing teachers welfare; saying the car loan, housing loan, other encouragements given to teachers and rewarding best teachers in the state have been moral booster to Ekiti teachers.The chairman said, “I also commend the Governor for his numerous giant strides in the Education sector, especially the renovations of schools and provisions of learning materials across Ekiti State. I hereby assured Mr Governor of Ekiti teachers’ unwavering support and cooperation to sustaining the educational standard”
While admonishing parents to prepare their wards and children for the new term, the chairman urged them to aid teachers by monitoring and encouraging their children to attempt home works given to them.”I wish you all happy resumption”.The Chairman added.
