“Higher education is not merely about acquiring knowledge; It is about developing critical thinking, fostering innovation and cultivating a sense of responsibility towards your community and the world at large”.
This was made known by the Vice Chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology (BOUESTI) Ikere-Ekiti, Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa during the 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony of the newly admitted students of the Institution, held on Wednesday, 23rd April, 2025 at the main campus, Ikere-Ekiti.
Reminding the students of the dreams and aspirations that brought them to the university, Professor Adeoluwa made them to understand that each of them has embarked on a unique journey, filled with challenges, triumphs and countless hours of hardwork.
“Today, you are not just students, you are the embodiment of hope, potential and the future of our country ” . Said the VC.
The university boss while urging the new intakes to embrace opportunities that lie ahead, he equally told them to understand that they would encounter diverse perspectives, engage in spirited debates and forge lifelong friendships. “I charge you to cherish these experiences, for they will shape your future”.
The Vice-Chancellor maintained that the university places premium on security of lives and property as he urged the students to be security conscious. Adding that there’s no tolerance for moral decadence and vices such as indispline, indolence, cultism, bullying, cyber-crimes, examination malpractices, drug abuse, harassment among others.
