Majority of the members of Ekiti State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Pensioners have declared that the report of the caretaker committee of the union which indicted the immediate past chairman and some of his executive members without allowing them fair hearing would not stand .
The aggrieved members rising from a meeting of the union which they said supposed to have given them opportunity to address some of the issues in the committee’s report were not allowed to say anything but said the report was binding on them .
Addressing journalists in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, the spokesmen for the aggrieved members said:
They reiterated that the committee’s report was orchestrated by the union’s Secretary and the Emeritus Chairman, Pa Ikumapayi who wanted to be controlling the union via proxy. They vowed that they are solidly in support of the immediate past chairman, Comrade Joel Akinola to lead them for second term.
The Pensioners called on the national body to send professional independent body to investigate allegations of financial impropriety against comrade Joel led excos .
