The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, PSN, Ekiti State Branch has elected new executives that will pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years.
Pharm. Martins Alutundu was elected as the Chairman of the union at the weekend in Ado-Ekiti at the PSN Ekiti State Branch Handing Over/Swearing in Ceremony.
Other elected executives include; Pharm. Dare Efunniyi, Vice Chairman; Pharm. Olukayode Temitope Egbon, Secretary; Pharm (Mrs) Fisayo Akinola, Assistant Secretary; Pharm. Gbemisola Adebisi-Jose, Treasurer; Pharm. Bamidele Femi, Internal Auditor; and Pharm (Dr) Oluyemi Temitope Emmanuel as PRO.
In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman pledged to prioritize the welfare of its members while calling for their cooperation to achieve lofty heights in the office.
Pharm. Alutundu equally noted that the new executives will engage relevant stakeholders, affiliates, organs, interest and technical groups to foster unity and set PSN on a track of collective prosperity.
He said: “In the next thirty-Six Months, my Team shall embark on renewed efforts to pursue the aims and objectives of the society. The welfare of members shall be our cardinal fulcrum; because that is the very essence of government, governance and leadership of any group of persons.
“YPG; we shall support your mentorship programs for a smooth take off in Practice. AHAPN, we shall fight for the domestication of all extant circulars that enhance our emoluments and practice to be at par with best standards. ACPN, we shall promote ethical practices that enhance viable and prosperous business.
“CPAN, your promotion of clinical-oriented practice will get the needed boost in Ekiti. NAPA, we shall yield your call any time for support to promote better working environment in ABUAD, FUOYE, EKSU, BUESTI, Fed.Poly Ado and others that may come on board. ALPS, you will have more courses not just to say Up ALPS but Up! Up! Up! ALPS.
“No doubts; I have my fears, but my fears are allayed by the fact that you freely gave me your mandate. So, just like you are in expectation of good performance, I am in great expectations of you availing us your Time, your Talent and your Treasures for how much of these you avail us with greatly determine the breadth, length and depth we can go to achieve our common purpose.”
Earlier, the outgone Chairman, Pharm. Bolanle Oreyemi-Oshoba, represented by the outgone Vice Chairman, Pharm. Uche Friday urged the new executives to build on the foundation of the outgone executives in taking the profession to greater heights.
Other highlights of the occasion is the Certificate of Service Award to the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ekiti State Chapter, Pharm. Olatunde Kolapo, among other eminent personalities.
The NLC Chairman pledged to utilize his office to champion the course of the union while calling for more collaboration among members of PSN in the state.
