Rural community dwellers in Ekiti State on Tuesday lauded the various intervention programmes of the Ekiti State Community and Social Development Agency, EKCSDA.
They stated this in Ado-Ekiti during the interactive S’etigbo multicast powered by the Bureau of Community Communications.
Chairman of Iloro Community Project Management Committee, CPMC, Isaac Akomolafe maintained that the agency has embarked on intervention programmes through the provision of social amenities in his community.
According to him, “they intervened in the health centre where the dilapidated building has been obsolete in the last 20 years. Also, solar lights have been constructed by the 10-Man committee, and the construction of solar borehole in five areas in the community.

“When it comes to the issue of procurement of medical equipments, we did it by ourselves courtesy of EKSDA. I believe that other communities are strongly behind Governor Oyebanji for second term.”
His counterpart from Usi-Ekiti in Ido-Osi local government, Anthony Aina said the agency intervened in the educational sector by building a primary school, renovation of doctor’s quarters in their health centre while work is ongoing to install solar boreholes in his community.
He disclosed that the renovation of St. Joseph Catholic Primary School, which had previously lost students due to its dilapidated condition now attracts even more pupils than before adding that the agency has also completed the renovation of the community primary health centre with solar-powered lights for 24/7 functionality while over six solar-powered boreholes were drilled across the town to provide clean water for residents.
Chairman of Ogotun Ekiti CPMC, Patrick Akinluyi, revealed how EKCSDA drilled a solar-powered borehole that has been serving the community efficiently.
He also commended the state government for reducing communities’ contribution towards projects from 10% to just 1.5%, making it easier for more communities to benefit from projects and boost their sense of belonging, which helps them protects such projects more since they have a take in them.
