The Executive Chairman of Ekameta Local Council Development Area, Hon (Dr) Leye Adeniji, has said EKAMETA is the tourism hub of Ekiti state with four tourism sites.
Dr Adeniji disclosed this in his office when the Ekiti state Journalists who were on tour of ‘Arinta waterfalls’ paid him a visit. The LCDA Chairman explained that Ekameta houses Ikogosi warm spring, ‘Arinta waterfalls’ and ‘Erin Water’
He stressed that Ekameta LCDA comprises three communities with one tourism site each. He said ” Ekameta comprises: Ikogosi Ekiti, Ipole Iloro and Erijiyan Ekiti. Ekameta is the tourism hub of Ekiti state because Ikogosi warm spring in Ikogosi Ekiti is from Ekameta, Arinta waterfalls in Ipole- iloro and Erin Water in Erijiyan , all are in Ekameta. There is one of the tourist sites that’s yet to be harnessed in Ekameta which is the first plane crash in Africa which happened in 1942 in Oke- Ilapa, that Oke Ilapa is a forest between Ikogosi and Ogotun, some of the debris of the plane crash are there”
Welcoming the Journalists to the LCDA, Dr Leye commended them for visiting the LCDA to showcase the tourism sites to the world.
X-raying efforts put in place to make ‘Arinta water fall’ attractive to tourists, Dr Leye said Government has fixed roads leading to Arinta waterfalls, adding that adequate security has been provided in the area for safety of residents and tourists.
The chairman who affirmed that more needs to be done to make Arinta waterfalls world attraction, opined that the LCDA has not ceased calling on indigenes and well meaning Nigerians to project Arinta waterfalls and other tourist centers in Ekameta to the world .
The chairman commended the Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji who hails from Ikogosi Ekiti in Ekameta LCDA, for his people’s oriented programmes in all sectors of the State.” Governor Oyebanji has performed excellently well in all sectors; Education, health, Agriculture, road construction, infrastructures, power and others. People at the grassroots are not left behind, they are enjoying dividends of true democracy. The governor’s achievements are there for the blind to see and the dumb to hear ”
