The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG, Ajani Omolabi has reiterated stakeholders cooperation in stamping out criminals in Ekiti State .
Saying, police need the cooperation of the public to fight crime . AIG Ajani disclosed this while addressing stakeholders at Okesa Central Police Station, Ado-Ekiti, during his visit to Ekiti State.
He stressed that police need the public to avail them useful information that would unravel criminals activities.
”Some people are saying when you give information to the police, some officers will reveal it. Gone are the days. The era of technology has made that to be untrue. Let us imbibe technology in the area of giving information”.
He pointed out that it is important to have vigilantes that will be working with the police.
The police chief explained that the police are to work for the people as it is their duty, expressing the readiness of the police to work and ensure that criminals are driven out of any environment. He said police are posted to communities to ensure peace.
He appreciated the stakeholders for their contributions to the peace in the state. The AIG also commended the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for his assistance to the command, pledging more commitment of the command..
The Ekiti Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, said criminal activities in Ekiti State has drastically reduced due to intelligence and dedication of his men .
