Egbewa Community Landlords’ Association in Ado Ekiti has inaugurated a new Executive Committee, with Comrade Segun Onaade as General Chairman.
The well-attended ceremony featured dignitaries from government and Labour unions, reaffirming the community’s growing significance in grassroots governance.Chief Oluyemi Esan, Chairman of the Ekiti State Public Works Agency, who chaired the event, praised the community’s journey from a forested area in the 1960s to a well-developed residential area.
He reiterated the state government’s commitment to community infrastructure, especially road improvement.The Chairman of Ado West LCDA, Prince Bolu Aladesanmi, lauded the peaceful and organized nature of the community and pledged the Council’s readiness to support environmental and infrastructural development.
Notably present at the event was the Ekiti State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Kolapo, who used the occasion to commend the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for prioritizing the welfare of workers and pensioners across the state.
In his valedictory speech, outgoing General Chairman Mr. Eddie Oguntonade expressed gratitude to the Governor for adopting inclusive governance by working through community landlord associations. He also thanked the government for resolving the community’s power supply challenges with the donation of transformers.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Onaade expressed appreciation to the community and assured that the new executive would pursue active partnerships with relevant government agencies to elevate Egbewa to model status. He declared the association’s full support for the continuity of Governor Oyebanji’s administration, citing tangible interventions in infrastructure, power, and water supply.
The new executive team includes Elder M.O. Ajayi (Vice Chairman), Mr. Tobi Aderibigbe (General Secretary), Elder Apata Jacob (Treasurer), Pastor Olomu Olaosebikan (Public Relations Officer), Mrs. Yemisi Owolabi (Financial Secretary), Mrs Olufarati Opeoluwa (Assistant Secretary) and Comrade Tunde Adebisi (Auditor)Also in attendance was Mr. David Dare, Executive Secretary of the Electricity Regulatory Bureau, who praised the community for its steady progress.
The new leadership pledged to drive unity, promote inclusive development, and position Egbewa as a beacon of excellence in community governance.
