The chairmen and members of various commissions, Boards and Agencies in Ekiti state have hinged endorsement of governor Biodun Oyebanji for second term on his developmental strides in the state.
Speaking at Fajuyi pavilion on Wednesday, where all the appointees of the governor were in attendance, the chairman of local government service commission, Chief Samuel Alaba Bejide applauded Governor Oyebanji for his numerous achievements in all sectors, saying the governor has changed the narrative by delivering dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
He stressed that Oyebanji’s sterling performance had made the boards and agencies converged and endorsed him to run for another term.
The endorsement was segmented into the three senatorial Districts: Ekiti North, Ekiti South and Ekiti Central, Hon (Chief) Tale Oguntoyinbo who spoke for Ekiti North, said the five local governments in Ekiti North benefited from the good roads, rehabilitation of general hospitals and employments carried out by Governor Oyebanji. He called on all the appointees to go back to their communities to sensitize them to vote for Oyebanji.
Also, Hon Oluwole Ariyo, Ekiti South and Hon Oluyemi Esan from Ekiti Central applauded the governor for political and socio economic stability, tolerance, completion of abandoned projects, prompt payment of salaries, gratuities and pension among others .
Hon OluKayode Babade moved the motion for the adoption of the governor to continue in 2026 while the motion was seconded by chief Mrs Richie Adewusi and the speaker of Ekiti state house of Assembly, Right Hon Stephen Adeoye Aribasoye put the motion to a voice vote and thunderous ‘YES’ rented the air of the venue.
The speakers said it categorically that whoever plans to run against the governor in 2026 will be wasting his or her money. Saying , Oyebanji Afuye would remain in office till 2030.
Responding, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political matters, High Chief Jide Awe who represented the governor, appreciated the gathering for the endorsement , saying it was unprecedented in the history of Ekiti state, while assuring them that the governor would redouble his efforts at serving the good people of Ekiti state. Chief Jide Awe and the Secretary to the state government, Prof ABIBAT Adubiaro charged the appointees to work on members of their communities who are yet to have Permanent Voters card to get them ready as soon as INEC open window of opportunity. The duo reiterated the importance of PVC to actualize the governor’s Endorsement.
