The 2025 yam festival of Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti, Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade started on Saturday with procession .
The procession led by Olori Bosede Akingbade started from the palace of Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti through Menara market to Iyana ire Junction and back to the palace for royal blessing marks the commencement of yam festival in Ilupeju Ekiti.
During the procession, wives of the Royal families comprising Akarigbo and Akingbade families dressed in white attires with tubers of yams on their heads, sang praises of the Royal father and prayed God to strengthen him .
On Sunday, Apeju -in -Council, notable chiefs, agba Akins will accompany the Apeju of Ilupeju Ekiti , Oba Sunday Awe Akingbade to ‘UDI UTO ‘very early in the morning to offer prayers for the peace, progress and development of Ilupeju Ekiti and her sons and daughters .
