The immediate past Commissioner for Youth Development in Ekiti State, Hon Gold Adesola Adedayo, has described the productive and educated youth population, as the greatest asset available to the state.
Adedayo showered encomiums on Governor Biodun Oyebanji for recognizing this favourable youth demography and designed policy that can enhance their natural knacks for productive engagements, personal development and economic survival.
The former Youth Commissioner, said this in Ado Ekiti, on Wednesday, on the occasion of the 2025 International Youth Day.
In his speech at the youth-driven event, Adedayo saluted the state governor for organizing a mentorship programme, as part of the programmes to mark the annual ceremony.
He said the programme is spectacular globally, because it reminds the policy makers of the limitless potential, creativity, and resilience of our young people that are abound and how best to plan for them.
Adedayo stated that the mentorship and interactive session,was not just an educative session, but a platform for connections, inspirations, and mental empowerment.
“Our theme today aligns perfectly with the vision of the Ekiti State Government under the able leadership of Biodun Oyebanji, who remains committed to creating opportunities that equip our youths with the right skills, values, and mindset to thrive in a fast-changing world.
“We are intentional about building a generation of leaders, innovators, and nation-builders”.
Adedayo praised the mentors for their willingness to share their wisdom, experiences, and guidance, describing this as a priceless gift to humanity.
” You are sowing seeds of transformation that will bear fruits for years to come. To our youths, I urge you to listen attentively, ask questions, seek clarity, and dare to dream big. Your future is not something to wait for; it is something to actively build from today.
“As we engage, let us remember that the greatness of Ekiti State, and indeed Nigeria, will be shaped by the quality of its young people. Let us commit ourselves to being the change we wish to see, to breaking barriers, and to lifting one another up.
