The Ekiti State governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has called on women across the state to take advantage of the ongoing Women Loan Initiative designed to empower traders and artisans.
In a statement issued on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the commissioner for trade, Commerce and investment, Mrs. Omotayo Adeola explained that the loan scheme, which ranges from ₦100,000 to ₦2 million, is a special initiative of the Ekiti State Government.
She stressed that for easy access and transparency, Omiye Microfinance Bank limited has been officially chosen as the financial institution to disburse the loans to eligible applicants.
The Commissioner noted that women who had collected forms but were yet to receive their loans should visit the office of the Micro Enterprise Development Agency (MEDA), located at Mutual House, beside new Governor’s Office, Ado Ekiti to resolve issues relating to guarantors or delay in accessing the funds.
Mrs. Omotayo emphasized that Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who prioritizes women’s welfare and economic empowerment, is committed to ensuring that women benefit from the initiative to expand their businesses.
She, therefore, urged women, artisans, and traders who have not yet applied to quickly obtain forms at the MEDA office, stressing that the facility is open to all qualified beneficiaries across the state.
