Five construction workers were rescued with varying degrees of injuries after a section of a building collapsed in the Mangoro area of Lagos on Thursday. Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service said it received a distress call about the incident at 5 Modupe Ola Street, Onipetesi Estate, Mangoro, and immediately deployed emergency responders to the site.
According to officials, the structureoriginally a bungalow was undergoing conversion into a two-storey building while occupants still resided on the ground floor. The partial collapse occurred during construction work.
The injured workers, all male, were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have since cordoned off the premises, while investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway
