President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended Nigeria’s security agencies for the successful rescue operations carried out in Kwara and Niger states, reaffirming his administration’s determination to secure every part of the country.
In a statement on on Sunday, the President recalled that he cancelled his scheduled trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee intensified security efforts across the nation. He said the decision was necessary to ensure a coordinated response to the rising security threats.
Tinubu announced that all 38 worshippers abducted in Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku, Kwara State, had been safely rescued following days of sustained operations by security forces. He also expressed relief that 51 of the students abducted from a Catholic School in Niger State had been recovered.
“I am closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving continuous updates from the frontline,” the President said, adding that his government will not relent in its resolve to protect the lives and property of citizens.
He reiterated that every Nigerian, regardless of their location, deserves to live without fear.
“Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” he assured.
President Tinubu’s statement comes as security agencies continue operations to track and rescue remaining victims and dismantle criminal networks across the country.
