
Ekiti State Head of Service, Folakemi Olomojobi, has praised the retired Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Engr. Olumide Ajayi, for his outstanding contributions to the state’s civil service over a 35-year career.
Speaking at a pen-down ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, Olomojobi described Ajayi as an embodiment of intellect, competence, and dedication, noting that his leadership and commitment to policy implementation significantly strengthened service delivery. She urged civil servants to emulate his virtues and encouraged Ajayi to continue mentoring younger officers.
Former Commissioner for Infrastructure, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko, lauded the retiree as a hardworking professional whose expertise greatly benefited the ministry. He added that their bond of friendship would continue beyond retirement.
Also speaking, former Head of Service and Special Adviser on Women’s Affairs, Mrs. Olapeju Babafemi, described Ajayi as an impactful administrator whose achievements “would fill a voluminous book,” praying for continued blessings upon him.
Another former Head of Service, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi, advised the state government to continue engaging seasoned retirees like Ajayi in public service training to groom the next generation. Former HOS Engr. Sunday Akomolafe also praised his discipline, calm disposition, and principled leadership.





A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Iyabo Fakunle-Okieme, representing his constituency, commended Ajayi as a man of honour and pride to the Ilejemeje community, praying for greater opportunities in the next phase of his life.
Earlier, the General Manager of the State Water and Sanitation Regulatory Agency, Engr. Ayodele Osalade, highlighted Ajayi’s role in advancing infrastructure, water supply, sanitation, and public utilities, noting that younger officers would continue to draw inspiration from his exemplary service.
In his remarks, Engr. Ajayi expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, describing his career as demanding but fulfilling. He urged civil servants to remain dedicated to building an efficient and functional system. He also appreciated Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s commitment to good governance and shared prosperity.
The event was attended by members of the State Executive Council, permanent secretaries, general managers, executive secretaries, friends, and family members.
