The governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Ekiti State, Pastor Ojo Ayodeji, has promised a people-centered administration anchored on improved security, social welfare, and sustainable economic development if elected governor.
Ojo who said insecurity would no longer be tolerated in Ekiti, stressed that his government would deploy practical and community-based solutions to ensure the safety of lives and property across the state. He described security as the foundation for development and vowed to make Ekiti a peaceful environment for residents and investors.
Placing emphasis on welfare, the ADP candidate said his administration would prioritize the wellbeing of citizens, particularly vulnerable groups. He announced plans for a comprehensive welfare package for nursing mothers and senior citizens aged 70 years and above, describing it as a moral responsibility of government to care for its people.
The highly revered man of God identified agriculture as a major driver of economic growth and pledged massive investment in the sector to create jobs, boost food production, and strengthen rural development. He also promised improved road infrastructure, noting that functional road networks are essential for economic activities and market access.
According to him, education and healthcare would receive urgent attention, with plans for extensive renovation and upgrades to restore public confidence and improve service delivery. He said his administration would invest in human capacity development through education, skills acquisition, and youth empowerment programmes.
Describing himself as a grassroots politician and a native of Ikere-Ekiti, Ojo said his upbringing and professional background as a pastor and businessman have given him a deep understanding of the challenges facing ordinary Ekiti people and the solutions required to address them.
He described the Action Democratic Party as a credible, people-focused platform with strong grassroots presence across Ekiti’s 16 local governments, and urged residents to participate actively in the democratic process by registering, collecting their Permanent Voter Cards, and voting for ADP in the forthcoming election.
