The eldest son of the late founder and General Overseer of the Living Christ Gospel Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Most Reverend Dr. Otis Olorunsola, has described his late father Primate Nathaniel Olorunsola, as a rare vessel of God whose life was defined by sacrifice, truth, and spiritual depth.
Speaking with journalists, in Ado Ekiti, Dr. Otis said his father lived entirely for God and humanity who on several occasions locked keys of deaths through fervent prayers for persons who have been predicted to die. He added that you can hardly separate Baba’s life from the church, noting his strength, wisdom, and time were wholly invested in the work of the church.
According to him, the late Primate was a man of deep prayer, patience, and unwavering faith. He explained that his father believed strongly in waiting on God for divine timing, a principle that guided major decisions in his life and ministry, including international expansion. “He taught us that nothing good comes by rushing ahead of God. He waited, prayed, and obeyed,” Dr. Olorunsola said.
Spiritually, Primate Olorunsola was widely regarded as a prophet, apostle, of uncommon grace. He led countless prayer vigils, healing services, prophetic declarations, and revival meetings that transformed lives. Many of his prophecies, including breakthroughs for individuals, church growth, and national developments, were said to have come to pass, further strengthening the faith of his followers.
The late cleric was also known for speaking truth to power. He counseled political leaders with boldness and integrity, never compromising his message for personal gain. Dr. Olorunsola noted that his father’s prophetic voice often challenged injustice and moral decay, earning him both respect and opposition, yet he remained steadfast in truth.
Dr Otis confirmed that late primate Nathaniel predicted his death, that a great man of God would die in Ado Ekiti and weeks before his passing, the church received spiritual signals and prophetic revelations indicating that his earthly assignment was nearing completion. Continuous prayers reflected his deep spiritual sensitivity and preparedness for eternity.
Corroborating these accounts, the Chancellor of the Living Christ Gospel Church, Reverend Ipinlaye Abiodun Samuel, described the late Primate as a fearless and honest servant of God. He said many leaders admired Primate Olorunsola for his sincerity and courage, even when they did not agree with his counsel. According to him, the Primate’s legacy of truth, humility, and spiritual authority remains a strong moral compass for the church. With over thirty-five branches across Nigeria and overseas.
Reflecting on the lessons left behind, Dr. Olorunsola urged ministers and believers to uphold integrity, patience, and truthfulness. “We do not mourn as those without hope,” he said. “We rejoice because he died in the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of faith, courage, and spiritual impact that will endure for generations.” Primate Nathaniel Olorunsola passed away at the age of 73, October 16, 2025, in United State of America.
A-week long funeral arrangements which began on Sunday, February 1st, 2026 continues on Wednesday 4th February, with Service of Songs by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Ekiti State, and Organisation of African Instituted Churches (OAIC), at the Living Christ Cathedral, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State at 4:00pm. While on Thursday, 5th February, there is going to be Night of Tribute at the Living Christ Gospel Church, Apata Natha, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti at 4:00pm. On Friday, 6th February, there would be lying-in-state at his Ado-Ekiti residence between 9:00am and 1:00pm. While Christian Wake Keep holds at same venue between 4:00pm and 7:00pm. On Saturday, 7th February, Final burial service holds at the Living Christ Gospel Church, Camp Ground, Ayede Ekiti, Ekiti State, at 10:00am.
