The Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Akintunde Rotimi, has been announced as the keynote speaker for the maiden edition of the Chief Biodun Akin Fasae Annual Public Lecture, organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ekiti State Council.
The annual lecture is instituted in honour of Ekiti State’s first Chief Press Secretary, Biodun Akin Fasae. Hon. Rotimi is expected to speak on the theme, “The Media and Artificial Intelligence (AI)”, after which a panel discussion titled “Holding Government Accountable: The Best Approach” will follow.
According to a statement issued by the NUJ Chairman, Kayode Babatuyi, the event will hold on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Sanni Abacha Hall, Old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, commencing at 10:00 a.m.
The statement further disclosed that the lecture will attract distinguished personalities from various sectors and will be broadcast live on several radio stations and selected social media platforms.
Highlights of the event will include the presentation of National Awards of Excellence to Hon. Akintunde Rotimi; Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Gold Adesola; Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatubosun; and the Chief Executive Officer of YSJ Agro Allied Limited, Oluwayemisi Joluwe. The awards were approved by the NUJ National President, Alhassan Yahaya.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and actively participate in the discussions.
