
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ekiti State on State Capital and Human Development Authority, Comrade Ogunleye Olakunle Olanrewaju, has called on former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Bimbo Daramola, to re-contest the Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency I seat.
Comrade Ogunleye made the call on Thursday in Ado Ekiti, stressing that experience, proven performance, and genuine passion for people’s welfare remain critical factors in leadership.
According to him, Hon Daramola, who represented the constituency between 2011 and 2015, distinguished himself through impactful representation and people-oriented initiatives that are still being remembered across the constituency.
“Politics should be about service, impact, and continuity of development. Hon. Bimbo Daramola has demonstrated these qualities in the past. His experience and passion to uplift the people make him the right person to once again represent Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency I,” Ogunleye said.
He added that Hon Daramola’s return would further complement the ongoing development strides of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, noting that synergy between experienced federal lawmakers and the state government is key to accelerate growth.



Highlighting Hon Daramola’s achievements while in office, Ogunleye pointed to several constituency projects and initiatives, including:
✓Facilitation of infrastructural development projects across communities in Oye and Ikole local government areas
✓Youth empowerment programmes and skills acquisition initiatives aimed at reducing unemployment
✓Provision of educational support, including scholarships and learning materials for students
✓Improved access to basic amenities such as boreholes and rural electrification projects
✓Massive empowerment for residents of the federal constituency
✓ Establishment of hospital in Ire Ekiti and donated to Ekiti State Teaching Hospital
✓Strong legislative contributions and effective representation of constituents’ interests at the National Assembly among several others .
Ogunleye also referenced Daramola’s continued engagement with the people through initiatives like the widely recognized BAO Walk, describing it as a symbol of grassroots connection and enduring commitment to the welfare of the people which has saved thousands of residents from spending huge money in hospital to secure sound health. Olakunle said , BAO WALK has become a norm in Ekiti state.
He therefore called on all stakeholders, political leaders, and lovers of progress in Oye/Ikole Federal Constituency I to unite and support Daramola’s potential return to the House of Representatives.
“Hon. Daramola remains a tested and trusted leader. This is the time for all well-meaning individuals to rally round him for the progress and development of our constituency,” he added.
