Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State to remain united ahead of the 2027 party primaries, stressing that consensus candidacy remains the most viable path to sustaining party stability.
Speaking to party stakeholders, the governor noted that while consensus is preferable, the option of direct primaries would be adopted if agreements fail to materialize. He urged aspirants to exercise patience and avoid actions that could trigger unnecessary rivalry within the party.

Aiyedatiwa warned that internal divisions could weaken the APC’s electoral strength, emphasizing that loyalty, consistency, and commitment to the party would ultimately be rewarded. He reassured aspirants that their political ambitions are acknowledged and would be given due consideration in due time.
The governor also cautioned against political violence, reiterating his administration’s commitment to maintaining peace and security across the state. He highlighted ongoing improvements in the security architecture and pointed to continued infrastructure development as evidence of the government’s focus on governance.
Party leaders who spoke at the gathering reinforced the governor’s message, calling for discipline among members and urging them to support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate through its established processes.
They maintained that unity remains critical for the APC’s success in future elections and appealed to all stakeholders to prioritize the collective interest of the party over individual ambitions.
