Senator Ayo Arise, a chieftain of All Progressive Congress and an aspirant for Ekiti North Senatorial seat in the 2027 general election, has condemned the invasion of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eda Oniyo, in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State by suspected bandits, describing the incident as barbaric and unacceptable.
Arise, in a statement by his media office made available to journalists on Wednesday, sympathised with the people of Eda Oniyo and families of victims affected by the deadly attack, which reportedly claimed the life of a pastor, while several worshippers are still missing..

He expressed deep sadness over the development, saying no community should be subjected to fear and bloodshed, especially in a place of worship where people gather to seek divine intervention.
The former lawmaker called on the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to act swiftly in unmasking those behind the attack and ensuring they are brought to justice.
He stressed that the perpetrators must not be allowed to go unpunished, noting that prompt action by security agencies would help restore public confidence and deter future attacks.
Senator Arise also appealed to residents, community leaders and other stakeholders in the area to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could strengthen surveillance and improve safety across communities.
According to him, effective collaboration between the people and government remains vital to securing lives and property, as well as enabling residents to worship freely and go about their lawful daily activities without fear.
Senator Arise further assured that he would continue to contribute his quota toward enhancing security in all towns and communities within Ekiti North Senatorial District and Ekiti State at large.
