President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended legal icon Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN) for donating the Newcruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex to the Ikere-Ekiti community, describing it as another landmark contribution to public welfare.
In a statement issued, Tinubu said the facility adds to Olanipekun’s record of impactful projects across education, health, and social development.
He described the Senior Advocate of Nigeria as a shining example of public-spirited Nigerians who continue to use their personal resources to uplift people and communities, creating generational and lasting goodwill.
The president noted Olanipekun’s role as a senior lawyer, community leader, and philanthropist, saying he had excelled beyond the imagination of any human being and remained a leading light of the legal profession in Nigeria and around the world.
Tinubu highlighted the work of the Wole Olanipekun Foundation in advancing human development through scholarships for undergraduates and law students, as well as social empowerment programmes for the poor and vulnerable.
He also commended Olanipekun’s investments in education and his efforts to promote Christian faith, social integration, and inclusion in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, and Nigeria at large.
The Newcruse Mother and Child Maternity Complex, he said, is a state-of-the-art facility built to provide first-rate medical services.
Tinubu urged the Ekiti State government and the people of Ikere-Ekiti to take ownership of the complex, ensure its proper use, and preserve it as a centre of medical excellence for present and future generations.
The donation continues decades of philanthropic work by Olanipekun and his family aimed at improving access to healthcare and education in the state.
