The General Overseer of Holy Trinity Prophetic Authority Church International, Ado Ekiti, Prophet James Omitade, has told Nigerians to change the consistent attitude of blanket condemnation of their leaders, saying this can’t be a solution to the multifaceted crises on grounds.
The Prophet advised Nigerians, particularly, the opposition political figures, other interested non-partisan Nigerians and social activists, to always offer solutions to their criticisms to help the nation subdue the pervasive crises around economy and insecurity pummeling the country currently.
The man of His spoke on Monday, during an interactive session with journalists in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.
The Cleric emphasized that , though the country is currently passing through harrowing challenges of banditry, kidnapping and killings in the hands of criminal syndicates, but warned that embarking only on condemnation may exacerbate the problems.
Prophet Omitade lamented the persistent and unchanging trends of all Nigerians now turning social activists that fondly condemned the government, instead of acting as solution providers, describing this as dangerous to governance and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
The man of God added that the most disheartening is the fact that some of the self acclaimed activists and critics often kept quiet, when their tribes men were in power, which he said had worsened the matters, as well as making things more intriguing and unworkable.
“It is now a dangerous trend in Nigeria that we have all become critics of government. We are now all opposition condemning government on daily basis thinking that it was the solution to our challenges.
“But to me, that is not the best way to handle our matters. If you want to preach through the altars, or criticise through political platforms and social activism, we must not forget to offer solutions.
“If we want to really help in solving our problems holistically and collectively, We should act more as solution providers, rather than just embarking on condemnation for one’s voice to be heard alone in the media space”.
The man of God also challenged his colleague clerics to always act as Prophets of solutions in their preachings and take practical steps in helping Nigerians resolve some of its socio- economic challenges.
He said he had introduced empowerment and skills acquisition as well as entrepreneurial counseling, as part of his church’s activities to to make his congregants garner enough proficiencies that can transform their lives, instead of relying solely on prayers.
“If you have followed my preachings, I used to speak the truth to powers. But, I will always offer solutions because I am part of this country.
“In my church, hundreds of youths and women had been trained in vocational skills and entrepreneurial trainings backed with cash to make them fit into this current economy. This is what we can do to help the government as citizens.
“The fact remains that we can’t make ourselves mere critics of government and leaders without being ready to offer solutions”.
