It was a blend of funfair, pomp, and pageantry when the 1991–1996 Set of the Christ School Old Students’ Association, Ado-Ekiti, hosted the 93rd Founders’ Day of the citadel of learning.
In a thanksgiving service to mark the occasion, at the school chapel, the Anglican Bishop of Ekiti Diocese, Rt. Rev. Andrew Ajayi, described the event as a celebration of God’s faithfulness and the enduring legacy of the school, which was founded on Christ
The Right Reverend Ajayi observed that the school has continued to experience unprecedented progress since establishment noting that where Christ is made the foundation, there will be peace, stability and greater achievements.
The Anglican Bishop therefore urged the students of the school both past and present to build their lives on Christ, live selflessly and become agents of positive change wherever they find themselves.
while calling on government and other well-meaning individuals to continue supporting the school, the religious leader advocated sustained prayers for peace and improved security in Nigeria, particularly in Ekiti State.
Addressing the congregation, the Principal of Christ School Ado Ekiti, Venerable Oluwarotimi Oso, expressed appreciation to 1991–1996 Set for their donations to the school, describing the gesture as another demonstration of the alumni’s commitment to the continued growth and development of their alma mater.
In his remarks, the President of the 1991–1996 Set, Asipa Ayodeji Adarabierin, said the set described as privilege for the set to sponsor this year’s Founders’ Day as part of activities marking its thirtieth anniversary.
He attributed the achievements of the school set Association to unity, love and mutual support among members, adding that the group remained committed to giving back to its alma mater.
Asipa Adarabierin said the set had renovated the Physics and Chemistry laboratories, donated exercise books and a borehole, and was working towards establishing an empowerment fund for indigent students.
He explained that the renovated Physics Laboratory would be commissioned during the school’s alumni anniversary in August and equipped with modern facilities, while the borehole would be connected to strategic points within the school to serve both students and staff.
He thanked the Bishop of Ekiti Diocese and his wife, the school management, old students of the school who traveled from far and near for attending the thanksgiving service.
He expressed confidence that the projects would encourage younger generations of old students to contribute to the development of the institution.
Other facilities donated by the set to commemorate its thirtieth anniversary include, four thousand exercise books for students and two hundred thousand naira towards the school chapel renovation.
