The Apeju of Ilupeju-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade I, has pledged the community’s support for the proposed construction of an Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS) office in Ifeloju Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ilupeju Ekiti, directed officials of the agency to inspect a suitable parcel of land for the project.
The pledge was made on Tuesday when the Director of Personal Income Tax, EKIRS, Pastor P.J. Olorunfemi, led a management delegation on a courtesy visit to the monarch at his palace in Ilupeju-Ekiti. During the meeting, discussions centred on the state government’s initiative for council areas to provide suitable land for the construction of modern revenue offices aimed at improving revenue administration and service delivery across the six communities that make up Ifeloju LCDA.
Speaking during the visit, Pastor P.J. Olorunfemi commended the monarch and the leadership of the Ilupeju Development Association (IDA) for providing a temporary office at the Ilupeju-Ekiti Library Building to accommodate revenue officials. He urged the community to sustain its support for revenue generation by donating a suitable expanse of land that would encourage the state government to commence the planning and construction of the proposed office complex.
In his response, Oba Akingbade praised the leadership of the Ilupeju Development Association for its unwavering commitment to community development and commended the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji for its people-oriented grassroots development initiatives. The monarch thereafter directed Chief Oluwafemi James Oniyelu to accompany the delegation to inspect a proposed site at the Mongrarata area, expressing confidence that the project would be executed without delay.
