Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has disclosed why he always elevates God in his leadership over the state, saying he fondly do this to achieve peace and economic prosperity that can only be attained through human efforts being guided by divine intervention.
Oyebanji said his clear vision to make Ekiti a land of prosperity has been largely accomplished, by upholding the tenets of honesty and transparency, with utmost respect for God’s guidance for his leadership neither to fail nor falter.
The Governor said these on Friday, at the August edition of the evening of praise held at Jibowu Hall, Government House Ground, Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
Addressing the congregants, Oyebanji represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, said his government started in 2022 with utmost vision to make the state a land of prosperity through the six-point agenda of his administration, praising God that he hasn’t disappointed in his leadership, or betray the confidence reposed in him in any area of the economic pillars.
The governor stated that the Evening of Praise was not just conceptualised as a gathering for funfair, but to seek divine direction that can salvage the people from economic doldrums, poverty and lift Ekiti to the pedestal of prosperity and greatness he had dreamt for the state.
Oyebanji added that though human efforts and intelligence are required to drive a vision, but stated that God’s direction remains the major catalyst that can bring about the expected successes.
He promised to continually work harder and sacrificially to make Ekiti greater, peaceful and more economically buoyant than he met it through partnership with like minds, and by keeping unshakeable fidelity in the power of God as the most potent guide that can help a leader.
“We thank God that this programme has been yielding positive results on the economic situation of the state and thus bringing peace to our people. Ekiti has been able to make it this far owing to God’s direction.
“I commend our cabinet members for sharing this vision with us that God should be given a pride of place in our leadership. I charge other citizens who live within Ado and its environment to kindly attend subsequent editions.
“Our vision is to make this state great. We put in our in our little efforts and we are achieving greatness, because God is on our side and he knows that we accord Him that respect that he deserves”.
Present at the event were the Commissioners, Special Advisers, Permanent Secretaries, Executive Secretaries, clerics, top government functionaries, among others.
