Ekiti State Deputy Governor ,Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye has taken a new oath of office for a second term in office as the Deputy Governor just as she promised unalloyed loyalty to the state Governor ,Mr Abayomi Oyebanji.
According to the Director of Press Office of the Deputy Governor,Tope Ariyo , Afuye gave the assurance i n Ado EkIti shortly after taken both oaths of office and allegiance stating that peace and collaboration were necessary to drive the development of the state to a new height.
“I am working with a Governor who is passionate and sincere about EkIti development . The last four years was nothing but the laying of concrete pillars for greater things ahead .”
“It is no voodoo that we are the first administration to succeed itself in the history of EkIti State. It is a product of the grace of God and the fact that we have a forthright man at the helms of affairs.”,she stated.
She assured that government would upscale on the massive road construction it undertook across the state ,advance the state as a digital technology hub as well as expand it’s various youth- oriented agricultural programmes that had become a national benchmark all for the industrial growth of the state.
Afuye who hinted that the best was yet to come for EkIti people said all hands must be on deck to ensure the current dispensation brings all the developmental plans conceived by the government into fruition.
“Peace has been instrumental to the unprecedented developments that had been witnessed since we took over the mantle of leadership of this state We are currently ranked among the most peaceful states in Nigeria..There is therefore the need to leverage on this by embracing dialogue and the spirit of collective responsibility considering the fact that EkIti is one indivisible entity”
The Deputy Governor who thanked the traditional rulers, politicians, ard other stakeholders within and outside the state for supporting the Oyebanji-led administration called on the people of the state to come out en masse to vote for the incumbent President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the next presidential election.
“Ekiti is progressing at this rate because of the cordial relationship between the governor and Mr President . Let us come out en masse and vote for Mr President in the next year”s election. Works have started ion almost all the federal roads in EkIti State ,the few that are yet to be attended to are already in the pipeline ‘,she explained.
While noting that EkIti is on course to become one of the leading economies among the Nigeria states with it’s current GDP growth of about 3.8 trillion ,,she affirmed that with a visionary leader such as Mr Abiodun Oyebanji as Governor , the future of the state is assured.
