The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced plans to honour distinguished Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields with National Award of Excellence.
The award recipients include the Chief Medical Director of ABUAD Multi-System Hospital, Dr Akinola Akinmade; the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE); the Chairman of the Board of Ekiti State College of Technology, Dr Femi Thomas; and Reverend Kayode and Helen Ayide of the Ekiti Baptist Convention.
In a statement issued by the NUJ Chairman in Ekiti State, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi, the awardees were selected in recognition of their track records of selfless service to humanity and their contributions to national growth and development.
Babatuyi explained that the nominations of the recipients had received the approval of the National President of the NUJ, Alhaji Alhasan Yahaya.
He disclosed that the awardees would be formally decorated during the union’s Gala and Award Night scheduled for November 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the BSO Event Centre, Adehun, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
