A 29-year-old woman, Sharlene Rutendo Munenga, has appeared before a court in Harare, Zimbabwe, for allegedly biting her husband’s testicles during a domestic dispute over suspected infidelity.
Munenga was remanded in custody pending a bail hearing after prosecutors alleged that the incident left her 33-year-old husband with injuries requiring hospital treatment.
According to the prosecution, represented by Takudzwa Jambawo, the incident occurred at the couple’s residence in Dzivarasekwa, about two weeks ago, at 9:30 a.m.
The prosecution told the court that Munenga confronted her husband over suspicions that he was involved in an extramarital affair.
The argument reportedly escalated after she became angry with his response, leading to a physical confrontation during which she allegedly bit him on the testicle.
The victim was subsequently admitted to hospital for treatment, while a medical affidavit detailing the extent of his injuries is expected to be presented as evidence.
Munenga remains in custody pending the court’s consideration of her bail application.
