‘Oye Local Government APC Likemindz’ has condemned the killings of two traditional rulers in Ekiti State by unknown armed men along Oke Ako -Ipao road in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Monday.
The group bemoaned the dastardly act on the traditional rulers who were reportedly returning from a security meeting, noted that sniffing lives out of the revered Obas was callous, devilish, wicked and unfortunate.
The group in a statement made available to journalists yesterday after their meeting, noted that the gruesome killing of the two traditional rulers: The Onimojo, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olusola and the Elesun of Esun Ekiti, Oba David Babatunde Ogunsola by armed men must be thoroughly investigated and ensure perpetrators and their accomplices face the full wrath of law.
While calling on the security agents to comb all the forests in the state and dislodge the marauders from their hide-outs, the group charged them to upscale their services of adequate protection of lives and properties, saying, “Enough of kidnapping, killing and unwarranted attacks on Nigerians”
The group said” Recent attacks have altered the relative peace we enjoyed in Ekiti State, hence, all hands must be on deck to urgently curtail the menace before it cause more havoc.
We commiserate with the immediate families of the deceased monarchs, the Imojo Ekiti Community, Council of Traditional rulers in Oye Local Government and by extension, the Ekiti traditional Council and the Governor of Ekiti State. God will grant us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and may the souls of the departed, rest in peace”The statement concluded.
