The Heart of Dorcas Orphanage homes and Children Centre and Disability home both in Ado Ekiti have called on government and well meaning Nigerians to come to their aid as the economic situation of the country is bitting harder on all and sundries.
The founders of the homes Mrs Lanre Fajuyi of Hearts of Dorcas Orphanage Homes and Mr Olumide Ojo of the centre for Children and Youth with Special needs made the call when representatives of Elemure Ogunyemi Foundation visited them.
Mrs Fajuyi who said the cost of running the homes and ensuring good care for the children had gone up astronomically, called on Ekiti state government and well meaning Nigerians to stretch hands of fellowship to the centres. Saying
better collaboration and commitment from relevant authorities would helped the children’s health, education, feeding and general welfare.
While donating food stuffs and other valuable items on behalf of Elemure Ogunyemi Foundation, Mr Yemi Ogunyemi said Mrs Ndifreke Ukpong and Mr Oluwaseye Ogunyemi provided the gifts for the foundation.
Mr Ogunyemi noted that the gesture by the donors was born out of their passion to lessen the financial burden occasioned by the present economic reality.
The philanthropists hinted that Chief Elemure Ogunyemi developed interest for children and young people from a very tender age, adding that giving back to the society has become part of his lifestyle during his lifetime, saying they are emulating his good deeds.
The spokesman for the Foundation promised regular visit and more Philantropic gestures to the homes, other vulnerable groups and individuals across Ekiti State.
The founders of the homes appreciated the kind gestures and prayed God continue to replenish their pockets, while appealing to Governor Oyebanji to extend his good works to the orphanage homes.
