The Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso has announced Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate for 2023 presidential election.
About 20 prospective candidates were said to have been thoroughly screened before picking Bishop Idahosa, 57 years old, from Edo State and a presiding Bishop and Senior Pastor of the God First Ministry, (Illumination Assembly) Leki light Centre, Ajah.
The announcement of the Running mate was made in the official Twitter Page of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) on Thursday.
The statement read in part, “Idahosa was selected because of his outstanding record, his impeccable integrity, his broad understanding of the Nigerian State and its contemporary challenges, his undiluted commitment to improving the conditions of Nigerians, and his sincere belief that a new and better Nigeria is possible if we work together with sincerity, tolerance, competence, and faith.
“A self-made achiever and a credible Nigerian, Bishop Idahosa is also selected because he represents the definition of a true role model for the Nigerian Youth.
“Kwankwaso expressed happiness that this patriotic Nigerian man-of-God will work with him in the journey to save the country from the current drift and create a new Nigeria where justice, equity, fairness, unity, security and development are assured.
Precise news online gathered that Bishop Isaac Idahosa will be officially unveiled to Nigerians on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the International Conference Centre, Abuja by 10 am.
It would be recalled that the alliance between Senator Kwankwaso and Peter Obi of Labour Party fell like packs of cards due to who would accept to be running mate to the other which forced the duo back to drawing boards.
Also, few days ago the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had said the commission could not upload the profile of Senator Kwankwaso and Sowore due to their failure to submit names of their running mates.
