The elected president of the United State of America, Donald Trump has called on Nigeria president to immediately release Nnamdi Kanu from detention.
The USA president made the call on a 2 minute video. He said America would stop all aids given to Nigeria if by Nov 31st 2024, Nnamdi Kanu is not released .

I urged the Nigeria government to respect the principle of freedom and rule of law. Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention for years, I have watched the situation closely and I have seen how it instills deep pain and anger among many Nigerians who feel their rights and voices have been suppressed.
Now let me be very clear if Mr Kanu is not released by Nov 31st, 2024, my administration would begin the process of withdrawing : Medical, financial and humanitarian
aid we provide to Nigeria. The United States stands for justice and democracy and we expect our allies to uphold the same”
He added that he would meet with other world leaders to discuss the issue including sanction to Nigeria, saying they stand for equity, fairness and justice.
