Alhassan Yahaya has been elected the president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists. Yahaya won the contest with 436 votes while Mr Tunde Atunbi polled 97 votes and Garba polled 39 votes
Alhassan was the immediate National Deputy President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists
Alhaji Alhassan defeated the incumbent treasurer of the Union, Mr Dele Atunbi with over three hundred votes during the 8th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Union held in Owerri, Imo State.
Also, a Deputy Director with Radio Nigeria, Mrs Abimbola Oyetunde emerged as Deputy National President of the Union unopposed and Ronke Afebioye Samo from Ekiti state Council re-elected unopposed as the vice President Zone B.
Other executive members clinched the tickets unopposed.
