The lawmaker representing Ado Constituency 1 in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Hon. Ayodeji Adegbite, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, HRM Oba Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe, as the revered monarch marks his 80th birthday alongside the 35th anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
In a message celebrating the dual milestones, Adegbite described the occasion as a rare privilege and a significant landmark in the life of the monarch and the history of Ado-Ekiti.
He commended Oba Adejugbe’s 35-year reign, which he noted has been defined by peace, stability, and purposeful leadership. According to him, the Ewi’s unwavering dedication to service has brought immense progress to Ado-Ekiti and contributed greatly to the development of Ekiti State.
Highlighting the monarch’s role in the transformation of Ado-Ekiti into a respected and fast-growing state capital, Adegbite praised Oba Adejugbe’s visionary leadership and his notable contributions to the agitation that led to the creation of Ekiti State.
The lawmaker further described the Ewi as a custodian of culture, a dependable adviser, and an embodiment of wisdom whose counsel continues to guide leaders and inspire indigenes at home and abroad. He added that the peace and unity sustained during the monarch’s reign have strengthened communal bonds and propelled development across the city.
Adegbite also applauded the monarch’s efforts in fostering harmony and safeguarding the cultural heritage of the people, noting that his influence and contributions to nation-building have earned him respect beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Describing the attainment of 80 years as a profound blessing, the House member prayed for God’s continued grace upon the royal father, wishing him long life, good health, and many more impactful years on the throne.
He equally extended warm felicitations to the royal family, the traditional council, sons and daughters of Ado-Ekiti, and the entire people of Ekiti State on the joyous celebrations.
