Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke has approved the payment of 734 pensioners who left service as Local Government staff and primary school teachers, on the old pension scheme.
In a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Bureau, Mr Akibu Ibrahim on Friday, notified the beneficiaries to make themselves available for documentation and payment.
Part of the statement reads, “This is to inform the general public that Governor of Osun State, Sen. Ademola Adeleke has approved half a billion naira to 734 pensioners who are retired under the old pension scheme, that are Local Government Staff and Primary school teachers.
“Sequel to this, the affected pensioners who have less than five hundred thousand naira balance with the state government are to visit the Local Government Staff Pension Bureau for proper documentation and payment.”
Recalled Adeleke’s promised to prioritize the welfare of ⁿ Osun people, said that informed his resolve to continue payment of the inherited debt, as well as offsetting the backlog of workers’ salaries and pensions.
It further assured that Adeleke’s administration would remain focused and committed to offsetting all outstanding salaries and pensions owed retirees in the state.
