As Nigerians mourn the death of the late Federal Minister of National Planning, Chief Ayo Ogunlade, the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Funminiyi Afuye has extolled his virtues as an elder statesman.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akogun Tai Oguntayo, the Speaker described Chief Ogunlade as a man of integrity who served Nigeria meritoriously as a Minister of National Planning.
“Chief Ogunlade’s death is not only a loss to Ekiti State but Nigeria as a whole,” Afuye said. He praised him as “a man who lived a spartan life that is worthy of emulation.”
While comforting his entire family, the Speaker said “we should rather be happy that God allowed him to witness a long life on earth.” He then urged Nigerians to emulate the life of the late minister.
