A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Otunba Adesola Adeboro, has lauded Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for the successful completion and commissioning of the 20-kilometre Ikole-Ara-Isinbode Road, describing the gesture as a clear demonstration of the governor’s commitment to the welfare and development of Ekiti people.
Speaking to journalists during the commissioning ceremony on Friday, Otunba Adeboro said the project was a dream come true for the people of Ikole and neighbouring communities who had endured years of hardship due to the deplorable condition of the road. He noted that the newly constructed road would boost economic activities, enhance inter-community trade, and strengthen the link between Ekiti and neighbouring Kogi and Kwara States.
According to him, the road’s completion has not only improved the state’s infrastructure but also saved lives by reducing accidents and curbing cases of kidnapping and other criminal activities that thrived due to its former poor state.
Adeboro commended Governor Oyebanji for “feeling the pulse of the people” and for consistently delivering people-oriented projects across the state. He prayed for God’s continued strength and wisdom for the governor to sustain his good governance agenda.
The APC stalwart also appreciated the traditional rulers of the affected communities — the Elekole of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Fasiku; the Alara of Ara Ekiti, Oba Samuel Fatoba; and the Onisin of Isinbode Ekiti, Oba Akinyemi Adesoji — for their unwavering commitment to the development of their domains. He prayed for long life and prosperity for the monarchs to witness more progress in their communities.
Otunba Adeboro further assured Governor Oyebanji of the unflinching support of the people of Ikole Ekiti towards his re-election in 2026, as well as continued loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general election.
It would be recalled that the Ikole-Ara-Isinbode project is the seventh road inaugurated as part of activities marking Governor Oyebanji’s third anniversary in office. Otunba Adeboro further appreciated the governor for pledging to rehabilitate the Ikole–Ijesa Isu Road, a federal road, in response to the yearnings of the people.
