A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Hon. Kayode Ogundana Rufus, has called on Ekiti residents at home and in the diaspora to remain steadfast and keep hope alive in the administration of Governor Abayomi Oyebanji, expressing confidence in his victory at the June 20 election.
Hon. Ogundana, an active APC member from Ward 1, Ilupeju Ekiti, made the call in a statement made available to Precise News on Thursday. He urged both committed party members and those he described as “one leg in and one leg out” to unite behind the governor, stressing that Oyebanji’s re-election is assured.
According to him, Governor Oyebanji, fondly known as BAO, is a grassroots politician and a dependable leader who has demonstrated sincerity and faithfulness to his promises since the creation of Ekiti State. He described the governor as a “good shepherd” whose leadership style is people-oriented and transparent.
Hon. Ogundana noted that the governor’s achievements across critical sectors of the state’s economy are visible and verifiable, adding that he deserves the support of all stakeholders to consolidate on the gains of his first term in office.
He further commended the governor for fostering peace and stability in the state, saying Ekiti has not enjoyed such a calm and conducive atmosphere for legitimate businesses and daily activities in a long time.
While appealing to Ekiti indigenes and residents both within and outside the country, Hon. Ogundana called for continued support for the present administration, saying sustained backing would guarantee more dividends of democracy and accelerated development for the state.
