Former member of the House of Representatives and the convener of ‘BAO WALK’ Hon. Bimbo Daramola, has charged party faithful in Oye Constituency 2 to rally support for the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the forthcoming 2026 governorship election.
Hon. Daramola, made the call on Saturday at Ilupeju Ekiti during the presentation of financial assistance to selected party members drawn from the six wards of the constituency; comprising Ilupeju ward 1 and 2, Ire ward 1 and 2, Omu Ijelu and Osin Itapa wards and payment of the six wards office rent by the senior Special Assistant to Governor Oyebanji on Capital and Human Development Authority, Hon Olakunle Ogunleye.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Daramola praised Governor Oyebanji for what he described as “exemplary leadership, purposeful governance, and a people-centered development agenda.” He said the governor’s achievements in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, youth empowerment, and health care necessitated the call for his continuity in office.
“Governor Oyebanji has not only sustained the legacies of good governance, he has elevated them. From road rehabilitation projects across our rural communities to timely payment of workers’ salaries, improved learning environments in our schools, and comprehensive healthcare outreach to the elderly, he has proven to be a governor who listens and delivers,” Daramola said.
The APC stalwart called on party members and stakeholders to remain united and proactive in mobilizing support ahead of the 2026 polls, emphasizing internal cohesion within the party.
“Let us not wait until the last minute. The time to start mobilizing is now. We must vote en masse for continuity and consolidation. Governor Oyebanji’s re-election is a project we must all own,” he added.
Hon. Daramola reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that uplift party members and the general populace, commended the governor’s aid for giving back to his constituents, saying he was not surprised, he has taken after me. He said” ‘Kunle learnt this from me and today I am happy he’s practicing what he learnt and I believe this no matter small it is , it will ease the beneficiaries’ challenges.
While urging members of the party to stand firm and work for the governor’s re-election ,the APC leader cautioned them against opposition or party candidate who may claim to do better than the governor. We don’t have any other candidate for governorship race in Ekiti, Oyebanji is our rightful choice and he has delivered and he will do it again. Hon Daramola stated.
The SSA to the governor presented an award to Hon Bimbo in appreciation of his support for him .The award was named ” A NATION BUILDER; MY PILLAR OF STRENGTH”
The party chairman in Oye Local Government, Hon Ogunsakin and other political stakeholders in the constituency applauded Hon Bimbo DARAMOLA for his contributions to the growth of the party in Ekiti state, adding that his boy, Olakunle has emulated his style of politics. They prayed God to strengthen him and prosper his ways .
