In a bid to drum support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s second term in office, a support group called ‘BAO Movement’, has again staged a roadshow for the governor.
The roadshow themed: “BAO Movement Road Show”, afforded members of the group to move from Fajuyi Pavilion through Iworoko, Ifaki-Ekiti, Ikere-Ekiti and many streets of Ado-Ekiti.
During the roadshow, the group could project the governor’s activities and programmes to Ekiti state residents. Gift items were handed over to residents to show appreciation for supporting Governor Oyebanji.
The event featured fun-filled rides with music, dance and awareness to members of the public, speaking,
the State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Kehinde Boluwade, said that the group staged the roadshow to appreciate the people of the State for supporting Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
According to him, “We have been on ground since 2021 when we worked for Mr Governor’s emergence in the 2022 Governorship election . Then , we started with 5000 men victory walk immediately after the primaries .
“We believe that BAO, being a very good product to sell will always be in the mind of our people. We expect the continuity of the support to the governor for all he has been able to achieve in a short time.”
Also, the Deputy Coordinator of the group, Hon. Victor Adeniyi explained that the roadshow is targeted at sensitizing residents of the State on key government programmes and policies noting that they are proud to identify with the governor owing to his sterling performances since assumption of office.
He said: “We are just moving out after about two years to sensitize the people of Ekiti State on the performances of the governor. The people really received us with joy and happiness because the governor has touched the nooks and crannies in terms of monumental development.
“We are proud of our product and we are soliciting the support of the people for the governor to continue in office for the betterment of Ekiti State at large.”
In the same vein, the Secretary of the group, Muyiwa Olukosi stated that the gifts distributed to the people is to complement the efforts of the State government’s shared prosperity mantra.
On her part, Chairman, Ado North LCDA and Welfare Officer of the group, Hon. Olatokunbo Gbadamosi appealed to Ekiti residents to extend their support for the re-election of Governor Oyebanji.
While commending the governor for making impacts across all sectors of the economy, she revealed that every member of the group donated towards the success of the roadshow aimed at recognizing the efforts of the State government.
“This is the first of its kind from a support group because every donation have come from the group and we have put resources together to go out and give thank you gift in recognition of every fantastic thing the governor is doing. We want the people to give their full support and we hope to do more of this and we want people to come and join the moving train,” she said.
