The suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa has arrived the Department of State Services at Abuja on invitation
President Bola Tinubu had suspended Bawa on Wednesday evening over weighty allegations levelled against him.
Consequent upon that, the spokesperson for DSS, Peter
Afunanya in a statement revealed that Abdulrasheed Bawa’s invitation was on investigative activities .
The statement read, “The Department of State Services has invited Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Bawa arrived a few hours ago. The invitation relates to some investigative activities concerning him.”
There have been several allegations against Bawa in the past.
The immediate past Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle in an interview with BBC Hausa in May accused Bawa of demanding a $2m bribe from him.
