Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has sentenced the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to life imprisonment.
The sentence was delivered on Thursday following an hours-long judgment in which Kanu was found guilty on all terrorism-related charges filed against him by the Department of State Services (DSS) on behalf of the Federal Government.
Justice Omotosho ruled that although the offences carried the death penalty, the court opted for a life sentence instead.
