Youths of Ikole Ekiti are protesting the death of a boy who was crushed to death by a trailer in front of Timberland joint while the second victim has been referred to Federal Medical Teaching Hospital Ido, Ekiti state for treatment
The incident according to an eye witness, the trailer veered from main road and rammed into Timberland joint destroyed properties and killed a boy on the spot while the second victim was said to have been terribly injured. Residents were said to have took to the street, barricaded the road, set fire beside the main roads said trailers will no longer be allowed to ply the road anymore .
The protest had hampered free movement of vehicles coming from Abuja and those heading towards Kabba- Okene- Lokoja roads.
One of the motorists, Sunday Abidakun said they have been stranded since morning.
The motorists called on Ekiti state police to wade into the matter and prevail on the protesting youths to allow them go to their various destinations.
