One hundred and twenty hours marathon cooking record has been set in Ilupeju Ekiti, Ekiti State by a student of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Miss Damilola Adeparusi to break the 100 hours world Guinness book of record earlier set by Hilda Bacii.
Adeparusi, who is a 300 level student started the continuous cooking of varieties food on Friday 9th June at Ilupeju Ekiti
Speaking during a solidarity visit to her, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Mr Oladele Ogunsemoyin described the action of the lady as motivational, capable of putting her name in the global list of achievers.
The Permanent Secretary, who was represented by the Director, tourism, Mr Adebanji Adelusi said, Damilola Adeparusi, fondly called Chef Dammy has displayed the rear trait of hard-work, perseverance and dedication to which an average Ekiti indigene is known for.
Ogunsemoyin said that Chef Dammy’s action would not only imprint her name in gold, but would also promote the State as a home of the geniuses.
He stressed that watching the marathon cooking on social media platforms has brought out the great talents deposited in the life of the lady, having cooked for 111 hours as at the time of the visit.
Also speaking, the Director of Culture Mr Abdul Babalola described the lady as a divine gift, who has offered herself to make Ekiti State proud.
The Director said that the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji would ensure that Chef Dammy is further encouraged to bring the best out of her for the overall benefit of the society.
