As Nigeria joins the rest of the world in celebrating Children’s Day, the Executive Chairman of Ifeloju Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ilupeju Ekiti, Hon. Olusola Michael Oniyelu, has congratulated children of the LCDA, assuring them of conducive environment for learning and educational support.
Hon Olusola charged the children to focus on their studies, saying education is the bedrock of individual and community development.
The LCDA boss gave the advice at Saint Mark Primary school, Ilupeju Ekiti during the celebration of 2025 children’s day, while commending the children’s resilience, creativity, and potential as the future leaders of the nation. Hon Oniyelu described them as the “priceless jewels” of the Ifeloju whose well-being and development must remain a top priority for all levels of government and society.
“Today is not just a celebration; it is a reminder of our collective responsibility to protect, nurture, and empower the younger generation, Our children are the seeds of tomorrow’s greatness, and we must continue to invest in their education, health, safety, and overall well-being.”
Hon. Oniyelu highlighted various efforts of Ifeloju LCDA to improve the lives of children to include initiatives aimed at enhancing basic education infrastructure, providing learning materials, and supporting access to healthcare and clean water.
He assured parents and guardians that his administration remains steadfast in creating a safe and enabling environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential, regardless of background.
The Chairman tasked stakeholders, teachers, parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, to collaborate with the LCDA to instill moral values, discipline on the children to raising responsible future leaders.
“To all the children of Ifeloju LCDA, I say this: you are loved, you are important, and your dreams are valid. Keep believing, keep learning, and never stop aiming high,” Hon. Oniyelu concluded.

Children’s Day in Nigeria is marked annually on May 27 to recognize the rights and welfare of children. This year’s theme, “For Every Child, Every Right,” resonates deeply with the mission and vision of the Ifeloju LCDA under Hon. Oniyelu’s administration.
