
The League of Pacesetters ‘ Club of Ilupeju-Ekiti has lauded the Apeju of Ilupeju-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade, for what it described as his exemplary leadership and remarkable contributions to the growth and peaceful coexistence of the town.
The commendation was given on Friday during a courtesy visit by members of the club to the monarch’s palace as part of activities marking the Christmas season.
Speaking on behalf of the club’s President, Comrade Ogunleye Olurotimi, representatives of the club , Comrades Ogungbemi Emmanuel and Ojaomo Ademola, said the reign of Oba Akingbade has ushered in peace, unity and visible development in Ilupeju-Ekiti.
Mr. Ogungbemi noted that the town has remained peaceful under the monarch’s leadership, adding that sons and daughters of Ilupeju-Ekiti are excelling in their various endeavours. He attributed these achievements to the constant prayers and fatherly guidance of the traditional ruler.




The delegation also expressed the unwavering support of the Pacesetter Club to the community, explaining that the club comprises members of the 2001–2002 Ilupeju Students’ Union executive. They stressed that since its inception, the club has consistently contributed to the development of Ilupeju-Ekiti and the welfare of its residents.
As part of the visit, the club congratulated the monarch on the Christmas and New Year celebrations and presented him with Christmas gifts, praying for God to grant him long life and strength to continue leading the town to greater heights.
In his response, Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade expressed appreciation for the visit and the goodwill shown by the former student leaders. He prayed for God’s continued protection and prosperity for all members of the club.
The monarch reaffirmed his commitment to the progress of Ilupeju-Ekiti, stating that his primary responsibility remains praying for the success of his subjects and ensuring sustained development in the community.
