The DMV Ekimogun Association (USA chapter) has extended warm felicitations to the Osemawe and paramount ruler of Ondo Kingdom, Oba (Dr) Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo , Jilo III, on the occasion of the annual Odun Oba festival, a cultural celebration that honors the monarch and the heritage of the Ondo people.
Speaking through the association’s Public Relations Officer, Engr. Tommy Akinbinu (WORLDHERO), the President of DMV Ekimogun Association, Mr. Ben Akinnle and Vice president Rotimi Akinkugbe, conveyed heartfelt prayers for the king’s long life, good health, and peaceful reign.
“We celebrate our royal father, the Osemawe, Oba (Dr) Victor Kiladejo, on this auspicious Odun Oba festival. May his reign continue to bring peace, unity, and progress to Ondo Kingdom,” Engr. Akinbinu stated.
The association also extended warm greetings to the High Chiefs, including Eha’e, Upojis, Ekules, Ujamas, and all sons and daughters of the Ondo Kingdom both at home and in the diaspora. The leadership of DMV Ekimogun Association prayed that everyone would live to witness the Ondo Ekimogun Day celebration scheduled for December.
In a passionate appeal to the youth of the kingdom, the association called for a collective rejection of negative influences such as cultism, drug abuse, and other social vices. Engr. Akinbinu emphasized the importance of purposeful living, urging young people to engage in positive and productive activities.
“Young people must understand that an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Let us all strive to build a better Ondo by embracing discipline, responsibility, and community spirit,” he said.
The message concluded with a heartfelt traditional prayer: “Aigho ‘o du’do a gbe wa oo”.
The Odun Oba festival continues to serve as a rallying point for cultural pride, unity, and celebration among the Ondo people, reinforcing the rich heritage passed down through generations.
